Message from Director of Support Services

Disa Schulze, Director of Support Services

I am pleased to advise you that Danbury ISD is working hard to maintain compliance with the federal AHERA regulations.  We have currently re-inspected and updated the management plan for the district.  If you would like to view this plan, it is available in the principal's office.  If you have any questions about the plan or this federally mandated program, please call me at 979-922-8174.

On July 27, 2012, Danbury ISD received final approval of the Grant Agreement from the Texas Comptroller's Office for the Texas Cool School Grant.  The Grant will total $310,068.73 and will be used for replacement of air conditioning units with energy efficient units with digital programmable thermostats.

On June 11, 2010, Danbury ISD was awarded the 2010 ISD Efficiency Grant offered through the State Energy Conservation Office.  The purpose of the grant is to partner with Texas public school districts to provide resources to implement the use of new and emerging energy efficient technologies and products in school district facilities.  Danbury ISD was awarded the maximum award of $35,000 for replacement of outdated, inefficient air conditioning units with energy efficient units with digital programmable thermostats.  Danbury ISD is committed to reducing energy costs.

NOTICE TO PARENTS

As part of an Integrated Pest Management program , Danbury ISD has a policy that requires the use of nonchemical pest control tactics whenever practical.  However, pesticides may periodically be applied.

The district applies only pest control products that comply with state and federal guidelines.  All Persons performing Pest Management at this district are required to receive special training in current pest management practices and pesticide application.  Except in an emergency, signs will be posted 48 hours before application.  Parents who want to be notified prior to pesticide application inside their child's school assignment area or who have further questions about pesticide use, including the types and timing of treatments, may contact their IPM Coordinator Disa Schulze at (979)922-8174 or by e-mail at disa.schulze@danburyisd.org.
