Remote Learning Week 4: Volume of Rectangular Prisms

Hi,

This week our topic is Volume of Rectangular Prisms.

TEKs (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skill):

7.9A solve problems involving the volume of rectangular prisms, triangular prisms, rectangular pyramids, and triangular pyramids

Objective: We will be able to watch the lesson and complete the exit ticket for Volume of Rectangular prisms with an 80% or better.

Activity:
1. Please watch the video lesson on volume of rectangular prisms. The video is posted in the exit ticket. So you will just mark this assignment as completed.
2. Complete the exit ticket, below.

Remember:
Volume= l*w*h or B*h (B= area or the rectangle).

As always, I am here to help. I am offering two tutor sessions Tuesday at 10-10:30 and Thursday 1-1:30. If you can not make those sessions, let me know and I will schedule a Zoom call with you.

Your success is my priority.

Remote Learning Week 3: Area of Rectangles and Parallelograms

Hi all,

Welcome to week 3 of distance learning. Last week was a little rough, so instead of jumping right into the review of composite figures we are going to review how to find the area of rectangles and parallelograms.

Out objective is to find the area of rectangles and parallelograms using your STAAR reference material and prior learning.

The TEK (Texas Essential Knowledge and skill) this week is working towards 7.9C which is determine the area of composite figures by combinations of rectangles, squares, parallelograms, trapezoids, triangles, semi-circles, and quarter circles.

ACTIVITY:
This week you will need to:
1. View on how to find the area of rectangle from my video. Once you have review the video, and posted the answer to the question in the video, please mark as complete.
2. Complete Exit Ticket assigned for area of rectangles and parallelograms.

Review of Circumference and Area in Google Classroom

Review of Circumference and Area

Hello! I hope you are doing well. I miss you and hope you are staying busy.

Our objective this week is to review area and circumference of circles and be able to find the circumference (outside) and area (inside of the circle) using the STAAR Reference Material.

Our TEKs or Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills this week are:
7.9B- Determine the circumference and area of circles
7.5B- Describe pi (3.14) as the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter
7.8C- Use models to determine the approximate formula for the circumference and area of a circle and connect models to actual formulas.

Before we left for Spring Break, we were reviewing the formulas for circumference and area of simple shapes. Below and on our Stream, you will find the formulas needed for this lesson. I have posted a Flocabulary review lesson and a quiz for you to complete as well as an exit ticket to complete.

As always, If you have any questions, please let me know.

CIRCUMFERENCE
Circle C= 2πr or C= πd

AREA
Circle A = πr^2

I have also attached extra optional practice problems for circumference and area as well as the answer key to check you work. I am here to help you!

I hope you have an OUTSTANDING week.

To Do List:
1. Watch the Flocabulary Video and take the quiz assigned to you
2. complete and TURN IN the exit ticket.

Remote Learning Week 1- Something Good

Hi Guys,

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1p9JIi0GxD5ucUG6zBHEyVq82L2CYVTIF/view

We are all working together on Remote learning, and am asking you to please be patient with me. Today starts a new chapter of our classroom and there is a learning curve. Our class is fortunate that we have worked with Google Classroom before, but we are still learning. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. I am here for you.

This week is going to be a little different. Our goal or objective this week is to make sure we are familiar with and comfortable with submitting assignments online. As with all of our lessons, we have TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills) but this week, we are going to have Technology TEKS instead of Math ones. Our focus this week is Communication and collaboration. You will participate in personal learning networks to collaborate with peers, experts, or others using digital tools such as blogs, wikis, audio/video communication, or other emerging technologies.

As I stated in the video, your assignment this week is to tell me something good that has happened in the last two weeks and turn it in. The due date for this assignment is Saturday.

I am proud of you, and I miss being there with all of you. If you need any help, please let me know.

Thanks,
Mrs. B

I will post additional OPTIONAL assignments or sites you can visit to practice math, but again these are optional.
