The Danbury ISD Board of Trustees consists of seven trustees elected to serve for overlapping terms of three years each.  Each trustee serves at large, representing the entire school district.  The candidate who received the highest number of votes for each position will serve as a trustee.  Runoffs are not conducted unless there is a tie. 

Elections are conducted in May in accordance with the Texas Secretary of State Uniform Election Calendar.

Board Candidate Information

 

The first day to file an application for a place on the ballot in a school district's general election is the 30th day before the filing deadline.  The filing deadline for a general election is 5:00 p.m. on the 78th day before election day.  Tex. Educ. Code Subsection 11.055(a); Tex. Elec. Code Subsection 144.005.  The deadline to file a declaration of write-in candidacy is 5:00 p.m. on the 74th day before election day.

Regular Office Hours:  7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday - Thursday

On deadline dates, office will be remain open to 5:00 p.m., and  applications are accepted until 5:00 p.m. If deadline date is a Friday (non-regular business day) office will open from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. to accept applications.

Filing by Mail:  An application submitted by mail is considered to be filed at the time of its receipt by the appropriate filing authority.  (Secs. 143.007(b); 144.005(b)).

Filing by Fax or Email:  A signed, sworn, scanned candidate application (and petition, if applicable) may be submitted by fax or e-mail.  Please be advised that an application must be notarized prior to filing via fax or email.
